What do professional dealers consider to be an acceptable "turn" on coins.

I have heard that in the past it was no more than 60 days. I wonder if it is even less than that now.

The question refers to real dealers who do coins for a living, not Sunday bourse dealers who bring the same coins to shows seemingly forever.
All glory is fleeting.

I've seen coins in 'real dealers' listings for over a year. Usually the price comes down as time goes on.

And sometimes the price even goes up. Clever marketing. image

It depends on the market for the coin. For example, I very rarely own a slabbed generic gold type for more than 15 days, because the market is very liquid and I'm not going to screw around for weeks or months trying to get an extra 2%. But on the other hand, I'm willing to stock a medieval gold piece for a year before "blowing it out", because it takes a very steep discount to force sell something that esoteric.

It really depends on who the dealer is. Some dealers will try to get mega retail on most of their coins, and will sit with material for a long time. Some will work on a very thin markup, and turn over their material much faster.

I suspect Andy has the right answer. I know I've purchased items from dealers which they say they bought earlier in the day (which in most cases will be true), and others which I know they've had in inventory for over a year. Granted, I've also been known to like weird things, which may help with that second half.
