Erin Andrews receiving death threats

This is just really weird.

LOS ANGELES -- An attorney for Erin Andrews says the ESPN reporter and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant has been getting death threats.

Attorney Marshall Grossman said Friday that a media outlet had received at least a dozen e-mails threatening Andrews since September.

He says the e-mails were at first sexual but have grown increasingly violent, and the last few have threatened her with murder.

Grossman says the e-mails discuss the case of Michael David Barrett, who last month was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for stalking Andrews.

Grossman says the FBI has been notified and knows the sender's identity. A message left for an FBI spokeswoman was not immediately returned.

Andrews is not yet seeking a restraining order but has asked "Dancing with the Stars" to beef up its security.

Geez, I feel bad for her.

I still can't believe some idiot at the hotel allowed the stalker to request a room ajacent to hers, enabling the videotaping.

These people are nut cases, who knows exactly where they are coming from, judging by
the story it sounds like they are angry that the guy who was videotaping her is locked up and
now they want to see her dead. There are all kinds of weird and crazy people out there.

It is not an excuse, but she is a public figure and being on 'Dancing with the Stars' made her even more visible. The more public exposure, the more chance for the crazies to surface.
    Its a sad fact.

It would have made more sense if she got like love letters or secret admirers, but death threats? Did she say "NO" to some guys that took it too hard? None of this is an excuse for her to be treated this way, but it might explain it.

Explain what? Why John Hinkley shot President Reagan to get the attention of Jodie Foster? A "death threat" on Erin Andrews makes no sense whatsoever in any context. Guys like this are insane - ya can't explain it because they are nuts, and if they engage in criminal behavior...lock them up somewhere and throw away the key - I don't want them out there in society.
