I've had this stamped 10 oz Engelhard for some time now. I've noticed that all the stamped 5 and 10 oz bars shown on the forum have a C prefix in the serial number. This one has a P prefix. Is this unusual or have I just missed seeing one posted before? Thanks

Engelhard generally uses 'P' for Poured, and 'C' for cast (stamped). But there are some stamped bars with 'P' on them (see http://about.ag/Engelhard-10oz.htm -- we hadn't seen that style with a 'P' before, though). If it were me, I would part with others before parting with that one, as they are likely rarer than the 'C's of the same style.

One might assume that "P" meant poured, except for the bar illustrated above, and the 100's. I don't consider extrudeds to be "poured."
I don't know what "C" would stand for.
