1952 Berk Ross results and another thought

Hello everyone,

I was very fortunate to put up a bunch of 1952 Berk Ross cards from a fresh collection over the past few weeks.

I was floored with how well the "8's" did. I knew they would do well, but I was very happy.

I have one more lot going off tonight, which is a nice starter set of 12 cards.

All of this stuff I put up at $0.69 with no reserve. Overall, everything is coming out in the wash and I am getting what I thought I would (some more, some less, and some right on). It has been a great experience to learn the market again.

I also would like to thank a few of you for your encouraging messages regarding my auctions. I strive to keep them simple and of nice quality.

Have a nice holiday weekend,

Greg Heim

Hey Greg...I just subbed a bunch of 1952 Berk Ross's to PSA....Williams, DiMaggio, Musial, Feller, etc.......I have no idea what grades they will attain, but the all appear to be high grade (although I have been fooled before by the Berk Ross).....can you tell me what prices I can expect and how much your went for?

Go under my auctions and take a look. I can tell you that a Doby in 8 went for $230.00.

I feel that PSA undergraded several of the cards because we took these cards right out of the pack 25 years ago. Regrettably, the stars have been long sold. From this hoard, the Jackie Robinson cards were the toughest of the major stars (and that is reflected in the pop report). So, an answer to your question is I do not know the market for the higher end material.

I actually have several wrappers to put up at some point. With the Easter break coming up, I take a little vacation time to spend with my family.

I see it...that is pretty good! One sold for $400 in 2006, and that is it! It seems like these cards just never come up for auction....I may do mine as BIN's, but I have no idea what to charge, as VCP is giving a bad guide, due to low sales volumes.....

It could have been that card was high-end for the grade and someone thought that it was a shot-9.
