    Agreed.
I've been having my 1st class packages get to CA, UT, Ny, NJ, and IL lately and all have been getting there in no less than 3 days.
Now, I do drop them off at my local annex (where the USPS trucks come and go from) instead of the actual post office, but that only saves 1/2 to 1 day.

    I'm happy with the service.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

The office I go to is rather short staffed btu I have never had a problem with them and my stuff seems to move pretty quick.

As a Lonely Planet guide of the USA once stated, when compared to the rest of the world the US Postal Service is actually very efficient and very fast with an incredibly low loss rate. That's despite the American public's fascination with disparaging the service.

After I left the ANA convention and right before I boarded my flight home last Saturday I sent out a half dozen packages at about 6pm from the DFW Airport postal unit. All except one item arrived at their destination today.

IF you don't go registered, it is usually pretty fast in first class or priority. Almost as fast as Express to go across country. But express is the fastest way for stuff insured for over a grand. --Jerry

  • USPS is the best! And bargain.

BTW, isn't delivery confirmation superfluous when insuring your package? Seems to me the latter includes the former, no?

USPS has never failed me. It will be interesting to see how service is affected when they go to 5 day delivery.

Sorry to dig up an old thread (1 week or so old) but I also wanted to share my experiences lately with the USPS. I had a package mailed to me from Florida to Arizona (1st class) on a Saturday afternoon and it showed up Monday morning, not even one business day!! Also, I had a couple of packages mailed Media Mail showed up as fast as a Priority Mail package would, and a package from Hong Kong sent via snail mail showed up in 6 days after I placed the order (so transit might be more like 4-5 days if it takes a day or two to process the order).

I agree mailed at 10:00am Tuesday and my customer in Louisiana just emailed that he has it and is happy.

Just to be fair, here are two of my recent experiences:

    1. Registered package mailed to me from Germany on March 1st. USPS.com shows it being received in New York on March 3rd. No further action...I've still not received it as of today (April 8th). Meanwhile, I've received two other registered packages from the same seller, that were mailed after that one (I received one of them in six days!)

    2. Package mailed from Trenton NJ on April 1st (I live in San Antonio TX). Package was received in Detroit MI!????? on April 3rd. Scanned again in Detroit on April 4th, 5th and 6th. Still no updates since. Why is it sitting in Detroit MI, since that is nowhere near the route it should take from New Jersey to Texas????? Also, why is it just sitting there being repeatedly scanned over a period of 4 days????? I considered the possibility of an erroneous zip code on the package, but the website shows my correct zip.

I've called the postal service numerous times about #1 and they say they absolutely can not help me due to international agreements. The only party they will communicate with is the German postal service and the sender. I also called the postal service yesterday about #2, and they say they'll call me back about it.

Enjoy this one, I'm sure they didn't mean to do it, and it won't happen again.
