Washington to lose spaghetti hair

I spoke to Mint Director Moy on Saturday at the ANA show about the possibility of issuing 2009 dated proof silver eagles, perhaps with the 2010 date on the edge, or perhaps a special mark as on the 1947 Canada coins issued in 1948. (Sorry, that would be impossible and probaly illegal, said he.) ) We still get non collectors asking for them as a gift or souvenir for a wedding, birthday, anniversary, or graduation from 2009, to complete a date run going back to 1986. and the many collectors who bought these since 1986 (at huge profits to the Mint..I think these were $23 when silver was $4) are certainly disappointed too.

I did say that I appreciated the 2010 Cents which went back to the original Brenner plaster models. Moy said that I would like the 2010 quarters, which will use the original 1932 model of Washington's bust. He said that this was not generally known, and neither I nor the 5 or 6 modern dealers I mentioned it to knew about it...but all said IT'S ABOUT TIME.

There are a couple posts on this forum from late last year that have that information in it.

Might try searching the "state parks quarter program" or something similar. The infromation is out there.

I'll believe it when I see it Frank. Until then, all bets are off.

Yes, I am a bit skeptical since the US Mints idea of "Back to the Original" and my idea of "Back to the original" usually always differ.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Anything is better than the spaghetti hair. Of course, I'd love to see them go to the Laura Gardin Fraser design, but that makes way too much sense to ever happen. image

Why even return to the original? Aren't we do for a new design 68 years later?

The meat balls would be a perfect fit for the hole in donuts.
