Questions on corners and centering...

2 questions...

The psa 10 description says a card has to have 4 sharp corners and the psa 8 description says 1 or 2 corners can be slightly frayed. So my question is, from your own personal experiences and grades you've gotten, what is the description on corners for a psa 9?

Also, for a card with psa 8 corners, if it has amazing centering and eye appeal, boost the grade up to a psa 9?
Thanks for your help everyone.

Probably not a nine, but with real good centering possibly 8.5.

    Good for you.
  • What I meant by the first question is..... what do the corners have to look like on a psa 9, compared to what the corners look like on a psa 10 and 8?

Chris, I have a PSA 9 sticker with a slight bump, otherwise I think the grader would have put it in a 10 holder as he put another sticker which looked exactly the same (minus bump) in a 10.

Personally I think 10's are arbitrary.

If I were a grader I'd give mint cards 9's and 10's would be 9's with a "wow that's amazing." See where arbitrary comes into play? It's supposed to be more technical, though.
