1943 LWCent Cud? Die Break? or....?


The area above the right wheat is raised.
Wondered if anyone knows what this would be known as?

    Looks like a very early retained cud.
    Somewhat common, and probably not worth a premium at this point.

    Sorry to say it is not a cud, or a retained cud.

    I believe this 'look' is due to something that
    occured on the die itself, like polishing to
    remove die clashes, or for some other reason.

    I've seen it before on 43's, as well as many other dates.

    I was actually referring to the area on the right of the right wheat stalk, and not the area above it.
    Fred is correct with what is above the right wheat stalk, and that is not a retained cud
