Who is the dealer who uses "+" signs in his ads? Will he need to take a new approach?
I don't have my issue of Coin World hand with me, as I enjoy a rather tasty blueberry muffin for breakfast. I know that there is a coin dealer who uses "+" signs in his advertising each week. For example, he might describe a coin as "MS65, W, +, +, +" or something similar. Now that PCGS owns the arithmetic "+" sign, will it cause confusion among this dealer's clients as to whether a coin is a "+", or whether it is really a "+"?

I am not going to lose sleep over that one!
I am looking forward to seeing some Secure Plus coins in the marketplace.
If so, I am going to go ahead and do the semi-colon and the umlaut first thing in the AM.
Dealers probably have a legal right to use it any way they want, but the fact is, it they will now confuse their customers unless it is referring to Secure+ situation.

Why can't it be both?
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

I know that's tongue-in-cheek. But I remember back in the late '70's a high tech company, Zilog (who manufactured microprocessor CPU's, notably the famous Z80 used in TRS80's, Osborne, Sinclair, Commodore, et al), tried to trademark the letter Z. Can you imagine asking for one of 26 letters? No, they didn't succeed.
Lance.
I will continue to do so for as long as I am in business...
<< <i>I have been using the + sign on some (a small %) of my 2x2's for a number of years now... always to signify "strong for the grade"... perhaps a PCGS spy saw my cases at a show
I will continue to do so for as long as I am in business...
Glad to hear it!

He was doing it first. No need to change it unless it's describing PCGS coins.
