CAC vs. PCGS Plus - does anyone know what makes one better than the other?

Is there a post why one is better that the other?

I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

link See his thread and look at this coin CAC 65. I do not think CAC is a Plus it just confirms the grade. Pcgs plus will be adding a half grade higher.

It is much too early to tell.

It will be a matter of market acceptability.

    Read this.

According to Albanese, CAC will continue to evaluate submissions, and determine whether to award stickers to those coins, strictly in the context of the basic numerical grades assigned by either PCGS or NGC. He said it will disregard any additional descriptive words or symbols.

"We don’t want buyers and sellers to get the impression that by stickering a coin, CAC is confirming someone else’s ‘PQ’ designation," Albanese said.

In my view PCGS plus will dominate that aspect of the market and rightly so. Time will tell but I bet CAC will not be a major player in a few years.

The plus will be much better..
If you read what PCGS says about the different types of eye appeal, that will tell the whole story.
CAC likes original coins, even if they look like a dog,and can't be retailed.
PCGS likes POSITIVE eye appeal, which helps a coin sell.

Maybe someone can link the Eye appeal page,

The market will work it out. I don't think anyone really knows at this point.

I think a PCGS plus coin will bring more money than a PCGS/CAC coin, but the market will tell us for sure.

I liked it better in the old days. It was "this coin" vs "that coins."

CAC is an independent opinion so it serves a different function than Plus. I think we have to wait a while before saying much more.
I like what Larry writes on here and bought a coin from him in Baltimore but I disagree with what he wrote. I have plenty of white Walkers that are CAC'd and based on what I've seen, think that CAC does value eye appeal.

One is an independant second opinion while the other is not. One is the opinion of someone that makes a market in their product while the other is not.

    only time will tell

There is IMHO a place for both in the market

But NOTHING, I MEAN NOTHING, will take the place of a well educated collector or dealer.

If I'm looking at a label or a sticker to determine which coin is better, I lost focus on a coin.

"CAC vs. PCGS Plus - does anyone know what makes one better than the other?"

What makes you think one is better than the other? It's a case of apples and oranges.

CAC vs. PCGS Plus - does anyone know what makes one better than the other?

to me, an answer depends on insufficient information which would be better in what regard??
    -----better for a seller.
    -----better for a buyer.
    -----better as an owner.
    -----better for someone's ego.
    -----better for the coin.
    -----better fpr PCGS.
    -----better for CAC
    -----better for the Hobby.

what i do know, if i understand the things correctly, is that PCGS Plus is better for PCGS and the Hobby, CAC is better for CAC, both are better for someone's ego, CAC tends to be better for the seller(and the owner when they sell) but neither can really benefit the coin on a personal basis. for that reason i am saddened for the coin since it is all about the coin which ultimately receives nothing. i guess that's just what happens when you are an inanimate object.
