Vintage topps printing plate question

I came across a metal plate for a 1969 topps deckle edge today at a show...it seems like it is the black plate in the printing process..the only thing that I am unsure of is that the image is "positive" or correct...not reversed.....of all things I teach Art and have a masters in printmaking...I have done all kinds of prints (linoleum aquatints etchings lithography)...I would think that the image should be backwards on the plate if it was used for printing...can anyone give me a lesson on plates that topps used for printing cards ?

I dont know about vintage but modern Topps plates are not reversed. The only reversed ones are the Chrome plates.

Need some more help-would a plate from 1969 be reversed ? I assume it would be but I know nothing about mass production print making
