They did a signing last night at the local memo shop. Backstrom, Semin and Theodore were there also. Could only afford these 2.

Very cool! Where was this at? Which city?
  • Very cool. If you don't mine, what did the autographs cost?

I don't follow hockey, but great to see a star player do a local signing - just not common. Man he is not pretty though image
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

    Oly Rings=0
    Cups=0

ahole doing 140+; because its okay in russia!
(still beyond repair jealous of the true KING) =0

    Crosby:
    1 Ring
    2 Cups
-66, he still lives with Mario
Is there anything going FOR OVY? Other than him being the ONLY POSITIVE FIGURE IN the DC AREA? The best part is, this Flinstone look-a-like does not even understand this! Ooooo-gaaaah!

    Malkin is better than you!!!!

    "no englasis"-- fred flinstone

Bottom line, u American bad boy image!

AMERICANS adopt a "WINNNER", Crosby, Armstrong(USA), ever back-up goalie the "Flower" puts you to shame.

How does it fell to have Geno's parents be more respected than yours? Hell, I have never even heard of your father figure?

I almost left for NY to get Ovechkin's auto in person, would have been nice to go up to Dulles for the day (I'm in Richmond). If you hear of him having another in person signing, next week, month, year, decade, please let me know...perhaps make a post about it?

That's a good price for Ovechkin, usually he charges $150

again congrats, signatures look great image

That's what I was thinking, apparently he's a very nice guy. Was Green still complaining about not making the Olympic team? image Green's auto looks a little like AO's, and the beginning part of AO looks like A-Rod. Nice stuff and very good prices...

Mike Green looks like he should be playing in Pee Wee.

I will do that. In the last year, OV has done 3-4 signings in the Dulles area. So, I have to imagine there will be at least 1 more this year. Though it mail be during next season.

I agree. Its really deceptive seeing them all padded up. In reallife OV looks like an NFL safety, Semin is lanky but with real beefy arms. What surprised me the most was Jose Theodore. He is only 5'11" and scrawny as hell.

Skilrow, with your icon, I suspect some bias there? Let the OP share his positive experience with a group of NHL players. Save this stuff for another post.

OP,It must have been a great experience meeting those guys. Sometimes it surprises just how "human" these guys are. You know, I could spend thousands of dollars buying Joe Montana autos, but the $175 for a photo op would be priceless. Congrats!

I agree completely. At this point in my collecting career, only reason I spend this kinda money is for the photo op. The auto means less to me that than the pic. Had there been an photo-op only fee, I would just be paying that.

I really like going to this promoter, unless there are extenuating circumstances, they require athletes to be willing to pose for pics when they do a signing.

From my experience, Hockey players have probably been the most down to earth and easily approachable out of all the athletes I've met. While I've never met anyone like Crosby or Ovi, I have been to FREE meet and greet/autograph sessions put on by the Lightning featuring Ryan Malone and Vinny Lecavalier. Stamkos and St. Louis have done some also, but I wasn't able to make it out to those.

    Congrats on the great experience!
  • great autos! this could be their year
