I do not mind conserving energy and reducing waste when practical and especially when it saves me money.
Just because the oppressive Chinese government endorses something along these lines, however, it does not follow that I will be on board. This is especially duplicitous given the Chinese overall very poor environmental standards and practices. Turning off the lights for an hour does not absolve them of decades of environmental abuses; it's just a lame publicity stunt.
I wasn't able to. I had a couple cases of 1970's-era spray paint that I needed to spray into the air, then dump the cans in the nature preserve down the road...
