Legend was knowingly betting on the come

It feels like Legend had known all along about the new PCGS products especially the Plus designation.:
1. They almost exculsively sell PCGS slabbed coins.
2. All of their coins are CAC'ed.
3. They have been preaching about quality vs. dreck and how this will come to roust one day

Now, I am not saying that they wouldn't have had those standards not knowing about the details of the big but their philosophy and behavior dovetails nicely with the Big One.

I say good for them and I have never bought any of their coins. I am sure that their clients are very happy with the advice they have been given.

Isn't Legend associated with CAC? I think this announcement has hurt CAC considerably.

It might hurt CAC and thereby Legend but it will definately benefit the clients of Legend. They have served their community well in my opinion.

I don't see the link that you are seeing. Legend has been in business for nearly 20 years, if not 20 years already, and they have dealt with the coins and service that their clients prefer. They are also part owners of CAC and their non-CAC coins get blown out via email, if you are on their list, and at shows to other dealers. Lastly, Laura has preached quality for at least as long as I have known her, which goes back to 1994. That would all seem like an awfully long wait for the new PCGS announcement.

    1) NGC will also be using the plus designation too, and I don't think it has anything to do with why Legend has been dealing primarily in PCGS coins.

    2) Legend sells plenty of non-CAC coins.

    3) Preaching about "quality vs. dreck" is something that various dealers and collectors have done over a period of decades. I think it made as much sense before the new announcement as it does now.

    Tom,
You and Mark summed it up so well that I have no points left...--Jerry

    betting on the come
and having the pulse of the market and vision of where the market is headed
    are 2 different things

and for the $25K+ coins, LEGEND seems to know that market as well as anyone

I still wonder about their quality vs dreck concept, as I seem to accumulate lots of plentiful, low valued stuff - which I do not consider dreck
but then again I do not have any single coin I would value over $1000

and when I get one, I would probably sell it and buy another 50-100 coinsimage
