RYK's Bigger Ones

Here are some Big Things PCGS could do that would impress collectors/forum members:
1. Pledge XXXXXXX dollars to buy holdered dreck from the market. Document the progress on the website.
2. Speed up the grade review process for coins that have turned in their holders.
3. Find a way to re-use the green label for coins submitted for regrade (if they do not upgrade) or for True View service.
4. True View all coins above a certain value.
5. Hire a younger coin professional to be on the board of experts and interact with the collecting base.
6. Combine return shipping for all coins, regardless of service level, that are submitted together.
Feel free to comment on above or add your own suggestions.

I thought this discussion stopped a couple of days ago....
5. I do not think age should be a factor, but sort of a Ambassador for the hobby is a great idea
4. Agreed- and there could be some consideration for an increase in the grading fee for this
3. I don't know about this- would this be a new holder with the old insert? That could work
2. I am not sure about this. I think this is a complicated problem and it extends beyond the scope of timeliness- and should focus on the root of the problem
1. I am not sure about this either- This almost sounds as if one throws money at this, it will solve a perceived problem. There might be better ways to deal with this.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
The ANA definitely is - the Sheperd is looking out for the wolves instead of the sheep.

I totally disagree with this statement. I think many collectors have expressed great concern about coin doctoring and gradeflation on this message board for years, and SecurePlus addresses both.

There is not one person that does not give kudos for any coin doctoring prevention, etc. That is not the issue. The issue is that it is either a MS65 or it is not. There is no MS65.5, MS65.9+, or whatever. I agree there are nice looking MS65's and ugly MS65's and it should not be the graders job to reflect that. Graders should grade. As far as I have remembered there is 1 - 70 and I don't subscribe to half grades. I understand that I don't have to submit my coins for this service but what about coins that I want to buy or sell? I will have the deal with it then and I would rather not.
