melt value and what they go for are worlds apart

I think they trade for 65-70% of silver melt value

just because of all the stuff in them and cost of separating metals

I believe most of these are used for alloy in silver contacts and the like. I'm not sure why they are so cheap
and have been seeking the answer for years. The best price I've heard of is 1.75 x spot per roll. This is 78%
of spot and I don't know if the buyer can handle large quantities.

You might be right though that the manganese or something has to be removed.

Sometime back one of the big buyers was offering about 70% of melt. When you see offers they tend to be
poor. They're probably a steal at this level.
