B.O. Regrades - Option to not reholder if + not achieved?

lkeigwinlkeigwin Posts: 16,893 ✭✭✭✭✭
I think I'd rather not have a coin reholdered if it doesn't earn a + grade.

For one thing I'd prefer not to expose it to more handling and atmospheric conditions. And I like rattlers and OGH's.

But from another perspective I'm guessing a coin with a "no +" label may be viewed as less valuable than one in an older, pre-big-one slab.

Do you agree? Should PCGS allow us to request "do not reholder if + is not achieved"?
Lance.

Yes, I would prefer my older holder than a newer holder anytime, escpecially an OGH

Maybe not right away, but I think that this would be true in the future. The + coin will bring more money and as a result the non-+ coin will bring less. JMHO

So you are willing to spen $65 per coin and if they don't get a + have them returned in the OGHs! Sounds like a winner!!! (for PCGS)...
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Marty, no pun intended, but $65+ ( you need to include shipping and handling both ways)image

Well, if you throw out (invest) a $100 for a possible upgrade you would want to maximize your value. An OGH 63 should be worth more than a PBOH 63 but less than or equal to a PBOH 63+. As such, you have more "value" by getting the OGH back and consider your payment to PCGS as an extra opinion. Oh yea, PBOH =(Post Big One Holder)image

What this forum needs is a Q&A section where people could ask their questions and PCGS representatives would provide the answers.

    Oh, wait....

I would pay the 65.00, otherwise you would have to pay again to get it out of the holder with no plus on it, who wants that------BigE
