I say 1917 based primarily upon the shield detail.

It's a 1917 based on the fold of the robe at the feet.

A type 1 1917 is still hardly "junk silver" is it? Numismedia shows it at $22 in G4.

Using our host's Photograde I'd say yours is maybe FR02?

I've heard reports from time to time of people bringing up the dates on these with silver etchant compounds, but I've also heard that's pretty toxic stuff.
