What, in your opinion, is one of the easiest to find but considered a "major variety"?

One that comes to mind IMO is the 3 leg Buffalo. I don't know why these are considered "major" or a "rarity" when almost every dealer website I've been to has at least one for sale. ( No I'm not trying to poke fun at BNBs threads - he doesn't need anymore fingerprints image )

Seriously though, it's easier to find the 3 legger on websites than it is to just find specific dates of Buffaloes for sale. What else is there to add to the list? The DDO '55 Lincoln? 1918/7 Buffalo?...

Must...Resist....Beating....Dead....Horse...Very...Hard....To....Do....................... I like the 1937 3 legged stripped buffalo attributed to the Bear and Bull Hoard. So much history and anguish is etched into the spirit of this coin. (Damnit! Couldn't resist).

The 1942/1 is much more popular then scarce. It costs big money because it is so clear, heck the 1942/1 d is big money too because the 42/1 P is so clear and people want a set.

    Without a doubt....the 55/55.

Given a checkbook, the internet and a week, anyone could put together a roll or two.

Although it must be said that would be a pretty cool roll.

The 1909/8 Saint is more common than the regular 1909 Saint. It's still a neat, desirable coin.

The 3 legger is not rare by any stretch of the imagination just really popular which drives the price. Although very faint, the 1914/3 Buffalo nickel is a tricky one, as all of the 1914 buffs are a canidate for this variety, even the D mint is reported to have this overdate as this feature is believed to have been in the working hub, it is possible that a working die was shipped to the Denver mint.
