Sorry for the bad pictures - I didn't clean up the slab enough.

  • Gah, I didn't know you were there when I did that! $4888 vs $5555.... I guess the lesson is, never flip a coin with two heads on the same side. But I'm still glad he left with my money and I with his coins, rather than the other way around. I was afraid if I didn't flip him there would be no deal at all. And he actually came back the next day with a lot of old tickets from Rome, a few coins, and a $$$ sheaf of world paper that he just gave to me! He said it went with the lot, and I bought the whole lot.
  • PS - glad the coin doesn't actually look like that, or you'd have never bought it! image

From my short time there, it seemed that Lancastercoin had the busiest table. Even in an old cowtown like Longmont there appears to be a demand for world coins.

My elcheapo, obsolete Olympus Z590 point and shoot still takes better coin shots than the newer cameras we have, but it doesn't do well with small coins in slabs and especially with coins mounted at a high slant (I even smacked the slab a few times to try and straighten it out). One of these days, an SLR with macro lens is in my future...

I've about a half roll each of the '44 and '45, mostly cherry red. And then, I have a mint-sewn bag of '65s. No one seems to want to buy a whole bag though.image
