Does the reviewing process really take this long

Sent in a February sub in the middle of February in one box but 2 seperate types of submissions. the first goup was all raw and the turnaround time was awesome like usual. Was thrilled with the grades and added with the group sub here was able to upgrade my set alot.

The problem is with the second group. I've never sent cards to be reviewed before so I figured I'd give it a try with some old 8's that were graded before the .5 was added. Well I'm still waiting weeks after I got back the other cards from the same sub box.

Does anyone have a similar experience? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm hoping it's taking sooo long because they're being careful taking my old cards out of the old 8's slab to place in new ones.

Depends on the card, a Mantle for instance gets done sooner cuz you pay for it.

A common can take up to 45 days IIRC.

Not all reviews are charged the same rate.

So, it is difficult to answer your question without knowing

    what you sent in.

At least that is how I understood the review process.

Mike, not sure why it's taking longer, but I hope you're right! Let us know what bumps and what doesn't.

    Good luck,

  • Had a review take 3 months last year. I've sent in two reviews this year, I've been doing the 10 day rate. I pay a little more, but if a couple of lower pop cards bump it's well worth it and you get them back a whole lot faster.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

  • I threw these reviews on the sub so it would bump to 50 to get the special price. The cards are just commons for my set. I was more interested in seeing how it would workout on a small sample before I try to sub anything else for review. It's hard to justify paying $5.00 for a review for a $5-$25.

It is worth the extra cash to sub at a higher level just to get the cards back a couple months sooner.

    Thanks guys!

IME it does take longer than raw cards. I've only sent in reviews during specials so I can't speak to the premium service.

I have found that reviews take close to two months.
  • Reviews are taking at least twice as long as raw cards . E-Mailed customer service and was very surprised I got a quick response. Just happy the cards are still there then lost somewhere. Imagine having to find 15 cards again for your registry set?

When submitting on a special, can you include reviews as part of the 50?

Pretty sure they need to be on another form. Like I said earlier, I've been doing the 5 or 10 day turnarounds for reviews, otherwise they get put in a big black PSA hole somewhere.

Reviews that are on the lowest service level tier, ie. specials etc. will take just at 45 business days.
That usually equates to just a hair over 2 months.

I have been told from customer service that there are only two graders that
    do the reviews.

It is an extremely slow process unless you go with an upgraded service level.
Even at that, it will go the absolute maximum time period if not a day or so over.
That's just the way it is.

I have used this service half a dozen times in the last 6 months at varying service levels,
so I am speaking from first hand experience.

    Hope this helps.
  • I included the 15 reviews on a seperate form then the raws. These are my first reviews ever so I sent in a small sample. It put me over the minimum required for the special. The raws were done and received a couple weeks back.
