I don't like that if the team that gets the ball first scores a touchdown the game is over.
Both teams should get a chance to score.

Did they ever think about the winning team that plays a brutal extra long overtime game, what their chances will be to win the next playoff game?...diminished that's for sure.
That being said, as long as the Eagles win the Super Bowl, about the rule change whaddo I care?
Goodell could automatically declare the Eagles the winner of any game tied after four quarters and it still wouldn't mean a damn thing...

Ya know, I said to myself I was gonna be nice to the Mets this season and not make any bad remarks here about them, but not now after that nasty comment about my Eagles.

One could say that this rule was put in due to the PI call that prevented the Vikes defense from being successful vs. the Saints. Seems like they addressed a symptom with this fix, but not the problem.
In reality, even though it "feels" unfair to have sudden death where a team can lose without ever having the ball in OT, it wasn't really unfair statistically until the kickoff was moved back to the 30 in 1994. From that point the coin toss winner has won 60% of the time. They could probably keep sudden death and keep it relatively "fair" statistically if the first possession simply started from the 20.
