Slab protection idea.......

I was watching NASCAR, and noticed that they have several protective layers of a thin plastic substance on the windshield. When they make a pit stop, instead of cleaning the windshield they just peel this layer off, and presto, nice and clear again. How about puting this on a slab, after a few years when the slab gets marked up and scratched, you simply peel off the outer most layer, and bam just like new.

I think it would work.

They make this for blackberrys. Not sure if it would obsecure view of the coin in any way. Also, you really don't need to cover the entire slab, just that portion where the coin is visible.

....i think it would work too! if you can see well enough to drive a vehicle surely it would suffice in viewing a coin.

    great idea! image

Placing them inside the Intercept Shield holders works well, less work, and your coins won't need to perform a striptease later on.

Of course coin geeks may find peeling appealing so you just may have a big market there.

I've seen many slabs protected by the sleeves made to protect sports cards.

  • that is actually a very good idea as long as it would also provide some protection against slab scratches. i`m a racing fan myself and they call them "tear-offs". they have at least 3 or 4 layers at the start of the race. it must to be crystal clear for them to use it. you just had a great idea on a public forum..... will we see it on the market in less than six months? imageimage
