unidentified coin. any help?

Hello everyone. I don't venture over to the "dark side" very often, but am doing so as a favor to my nephew. He would like to know whatever y'all are willing to share regarding this coin. Is it real? Country of origin? Any value? That sort of stuff. I personally would like to know if the flat spots on the rim and the resulting "bumps" are natural or "damage" done after minting? Thank you for any and all responses.

It's a Canadian bank token, I'm sure someone will come along with more specific info. But all that's post mint, the result of a long life in circulation! I think it's neat, has character
