I got my hand on a Shooting Medal from the earlier shooting festivals. Richter has this one on the cover of his wonderful book.

UNC (Per Karl Stephens, whom I trust in grading).

Once I will have the medal in hand I will take a better image.

I had thought about getting into Swiss shooting medals, but decided that it would be too unwieldy. I do have 6, however, and one of them is from Aarau, 1908. It is interesting to compare the styles, the classic 1849 with the art nouveau 1908, which features the son of William Tell on the obverse and an intimidating standing eagle on the reverse.

Came in, I am a bit dissapointed, yet these seem harder to find at times termed "so called shooting taler" not medal.

oy! darn I love that piece - not overly obvious that it was cleaned really in the original post - actually looks nice - the pictures you took besides being wow photos - do show somethin goin on in the open fields - personally I think they were abit harsh as it should have been graded maybe not 63-64 but a 62 it def merits and screw the improperly cleaned details - hello!!!... if the coin looks like crap then sure body bag it - but something like this just doesn't sound correct to me...whatever.
