    I wonder if Henry Wallace was already Secretary of Agriculture at the time of issuance of the top medal-

    I guess its possible his Dad even could have been

    The reference to Wallace was not just because he was Secretary of Agriculture, but because he was the founder of Pioneer Hy-Bred and probably one of the greatest corn experts of the 20th Century

    Interestingly enough, the agricultural medal, which is loaded on Flickr, caught the attention of some group that opposes the genetic manipulation of food crops. They asked permission to add the photo to their group's photos. Since I am not politicized on that issue, I denied the request.

    Great purchases. I have been tempted before to get into Medals as you can get great designs cost effectively. I did plunge with French Art Nouveaux yet at some point sold it off as I decided to focus on Swiss Shooting Medals and the Taler collection.

    Enjoy these.
