CORNELL WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MorgothMorgoth Posts: 3,950 ✭✭✭
Never thought I would say that, and they won convincingly. Score wasn't that close. WOW, I say they have a legitimate shot at the sweet 16.

yeah. 3 or 4 of the writers on the (US) Office are Harvard grads so for some reason they like to poke fun at Cornell grads so they made the show's most annoying character(Andy Bernard) a Cornell grad. Perhaps there's a Cornell alum on the staff as well and they're just outnumbered.

There is a Cornell grad where I work. I will hear more about this and in all fairness I think I should. I think the last Ivy League team to make the final four was Penn in the early to mid 1970s-

    Congrats to the Big Red

  • I have them in the Sweet 16 in my bracket.

Mercury10c really??????? First time in school history it wins a game in the tournament. Cornell took Kansas down to the wire in Kansas so I think they deserve some respect by now. Also they don't play the Princeton style of boring basketball, hell they scored in the 70's against one of the toughest teams to score on in the tournament.

mercury10c, this is the third college BB thread I've read where you posted that stupid sleeping icon. Go take a nap somewhere else, some of us like college basketball and reading these threads.

Morgoth, I'm a KU fan and know how tough Cornell is. Congrats and hoping they go a long way in the tourney.

I'm sure that Calipari and the Fightin' Rent-a-Players from KU will dispatch Cornell, but it's still been a remarkable run by a team of actual student-athletes.

Good news for Cornell. In one of my ESPN brackets I have Cornell beating Kentucky.
Bad news. I only have 5 of the sweet sixteen and have done worse than 79% of contestants.

Good news for Kentucky. In one of my ESPN brackets I have Kentucky beating Cornell.
In this bracket I have 9 of the sweet 16 and have done better than 92% of contestants.

As long as Ohio State beats W. Va. in the finals all will be ok.

I love to see the mid-majors win.

I had Cornell to win one game but didn't think they would beat Wisconsin... and certainly not by such a large margin. Very impressive.

Its been a great run, who knows what can happen. I do know Cornell can play well enough to have a shot at winning. If Kansas can go down so can Kentucky. Either way they have made a great showing for the Ivy.

    CORNELL WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nope. Cornell loses.

I have never wanted a win so badly for Kentucky. Not because I am a Cornell hater. Only because the "media experts" kept hyping this one as an upset that could happen because of Kentucky's "youth and inexperience". How's that "maturity and experience" working for you Kansas and Syracuse? Again, it's not because I'm a hater of those programs. I just can't stand the media sometimes. If Cornell was playing anybody else other than Kentucky, I would have rooted for them just like everybody else. I think Bob Knight went into hiding. Bob Knight will go on a fishing trip, not to be seen again until next year if Kentucky makes the Final Four. He is a notorious UK hater.
