What are B+M's paying for 90%

There's a lady at work that wants to sell some "old coins".
I told her I would look at them. I want to offer her a fair price.
I assume it is just common 90% stuff. What could she expect to get from a dealer?

  • I would say a "fair" price would be 11.5x face if just junk silver.

It all depends on the quantity involved. Time is money. We have a certain amount of city-required paperwork we have to fill out for every purchase. You bring me $10 face and my time requires me to pay 10 times face. Bring me $1000 face and I can pay 11.5 times face. If I pay 11.5 times face for $10 face we lose money. People who say otherwise have never run a business.

Thanks for the insight and understanding. Seems pretty reasonable to me.
