I haven't seen any interesting Mariannes in a while. This medal was given to me by a friend of French ancestry. Either given to his ancestor or that of a family friend.

As a child, I saw pictures of the 10 franc and 20 franc roosters in a large Webster's dictionary. I always wanted one of those coins. Many decades later I finally got one. Never mind the rooster. I am now in love with Marianne on the obverse. It is a beautiful 3 D sculpture that a flat picture never showed.
