1876-cc SLQ / date placement / PIC ADDED

I have a friend who gave me some coins to check out, they were his mother's. One of the coins is an 1876-cc quarter (badly cleaned, though ) that caught my eye. The 6 in the date is right up against the 7, almost touching it. All other pics of these that I've seen has a much bigger space in between the 7 and 6. Just wondering if this is a known variety? I'll get a pic tomorrow but wanted to check if anyone knew if there were different varieties for this year with the date spacing?

Could possibly be Briggs Obv.#8, with date sloping up from left to right, and 6 of date is repunched heavily North.

Here's a pic of the date. Maybe I'm seeing things but the 7 and 6 look much closer than other 1876-cc quarters I'm seeing. What say you?

There are 14 different obverse dies for 1876-CC 25C. None of which are particularly scarce or rare, except maybe Briggs Obv. 13 - virtually even date with doubled die features.

Thanks for the replies. Can someone point me towards a reference to these different obverse varieties? Is there a website that has pics?

The only reference available is the briggs book. You can get one for around $40. That being said, the only 76-cc to carry any premium is the 1-A and 2-A.

The reason being is it is the exact same reverse used for the unobtainable 1873-CC No Arrows quarter. The undisputable king of the series.

The "1876-CC" and "SLQ" in the same description threw me off for a moment.
