Is There Gold in Fort Knox?
That’s why Ron Paul (R-Texas), a 2008 presidential candidate known for his libertarian streak, wants to have a look around. Paul introduced a bill to audit the Federal Reserve, which includes Fort Knox’s gold. “My attitude is, let’s just find out what’s there,” he says.

RE: Is There Gold in Fort Knox?
This article is funny. I wonder if the author really thinks this (can anyone really be this ignorant?) or is he deliberately pumping out dis-information?
Gold is the ultimate medium of exchange. There isn't that much of it available, perhaps 170,000 tons, with about 2000 to 2400 tons mined annually all over the world. About 90% of the gold ever mined is still around, which should clue you in as to how precious this stuff has been and continues to be all over the world. In India, values are still calculated in gold grams when it comes to determining the worthiness of a suitor.
At $1100 USD per ounce, the European central banks are not buying, but apparently acccumulating on price dips, the Asians are aggressively buying, including 200 tons by the Indians at $1045/oz. Clearly, they think the price is not high and they think they need the reserves. Why is that? Their economies are doing better than the Western one (China's growth rate is what, 10.7%), so why are they aggressively buying gold?
Would you rather have gold in your vault or paper dollars? which get diluted in value by the trillions every year? The whole world is answering this question as we write. By purchasing GOLD.
The author of this article cannot be ignorant of this. Nobody can be that stupid. He's simply another Pimp for the Fed.

Ft Knox is a very large military installation and the bullion depository is a very small tenant at Ft. Knox.

<< <i>I dont know about any gold , but be ready for the army to search your vechile and answer a some questions as soon as you exit the ramp leading to the fort.

Why did the army have their soldiers pretend to be gassed by Miss P. Galore's gorgeous female pilots, and let Goldfinger enter the vaults and come within 7 seconds of detonating a device that would have rendered the gold at Fort Knox radioactive for 57 years.
Surely there was a better way of handling that situation.
they stole that gold years ago
<< <i>didn't he see GOLDFINGER ?
they stole that gold years ago >>
To the contrary, Goldfinger's plan was never to steal the gold. It was to detonate a bomb and make the gold at Fort Knox radioactive for 57 years, thereby making the gold that Goldfinger already owned a lot more valuable.
See my post above for more details.
<< <i>FYI, the gold in Ft. Knox is actually in the custody of the United States Mint and is guarded by their police force. The annual report of the Mint details the holdings there. The same people who think there is no gold there also believe we did not go to the moon and fakes it from Arizona (well, maybe not all, but it is just another idiot conspiracy theory). >>
Of course, the conspiracy theorists believe that the absolute lack of proof of a conspiracy only PROVES that the conspiracy is successful!!!!
