F.A.O. WORLD GOLD CERES MEDALS?????

I've got a nice proof collection(8) of early '70s FAO gold medals depicting women who have been instrumental in the fight against world hunger. They are 22mm, 22kt gold, 8+grams, minted in Rome, Italy. I've got a lot of information on them but can't seem to find exact mintages. I know they were in the low 1000's, but I would like to gather any and all info I can before they go to the Graders or Ebay.(Googled out) Thanks in advance, sgorem@aol.com

Try doing a search for FAO or F.A.O. on this forum. There was a thread a few years ago that contained contact info to the Director of the FAO coin program. He may be able to get your answers.
edit to add:
Found it in this thread 1st post:
FAO contact.
edit #2: would love to see pix of he medals.

My Ebay
I have 3 FAO albums from the early 70's.
1 brown, 1 green, 1 blue.
I bought them at a garage sale 4 to 5 years ago.
All 3 albums and coins are in perfect condition. I assume they must have
set on the shelf for all those years.
At first I wasn't going to buy them (the seller wanted $200)
Even though they were interesting, they weren't something I was collecting.
I counted the coins, and it totaled 100 coins in all 3 albums. I concluded that for
$2 per coin, it was a neat novelty.
I still don't know much about them except the red album is the rarest and most valuable
of the collection.
I now want to get the red, but when I do come across a decent looking album on ebay it goes
for way more than I want to pay.
I noticed this same thing.
The set is so nice, that I couldn't bring myself to piecemeal it out.
