I've just added my babies back into The PCGS Registry!!!

OK,I just added my Lincoln Proofs into the new 1936-1958 Registry Set.Since it is just in existence today,I'm sure there are others that have preceeded me.I'm sure we'll all pop up at the same time.Let's see how far down the list I am this time.

Welcome back Don! The Registry may not be perfect, but the people make it fun.... especially the Merc collectors!

        Welcome back Don,

I'll probably see how Baltimore treats my wallet and I'll see if I can dress up my 1936 to 1958 proofs prior to posting.

I'm sure there are those who will rue your return. I don't know what you have in the 50-58 category, but if they are of the same caliber as your others, you will be high on the list, and definately front page! Try not to step on me on your way up!

Thanks again for the 1910 MPL.

        Tbig, et al.,

There was a 1936 PR 66 CAM (brilliant proof) that sold in the Heritage February Long Beach sale for $15,000 plus buyer's fee (total $17,250). Since this is a pop 1 coin, it should be safe to assume Hall is selling the same coin. I understand he bought a lot of Lincolns in that sale.

I wonder why.... Could it be that in the next market watch he would suggest that Lincolns are blazing red hot?image

You guy's sure no how to hurt someone.imageThe funny thing is that 1936 was Red at the last Baltimore show when it was sold by Teletrade, and I passed it up.imageimageimageat myself!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the good wishes. While I can't afford the David Hall 1936 PR66 CAM,I am looking at a 1936 PR65 Brilliant.I'm hopeing that after the Baltimore Show and I sell my 1909 PR65 RD MPL,I'll be able to make the deal on it.Then that would leave only the 1936 PR65 Satin to get.

        Don:

I read the subject of your thread and thought, "Oh my God, now PCGS is slabbing kids!"

More seriously, I was sorry when you removed your coins and so I am glad to see you adding them back!

I must say,I'm confused by the set rateing.I don't understand how it could be more than 20 points lower than the average coins.Someone please explain.I'll be back after the Baltimore Show tonight.I'll make a post about the show too on the open coin forum.

        Hi Don,

It's that darn two coin superset that we were talking about. Those two 1936's are worth as much as the 1937-1939 or the 1940-1950 or the 1951-1958.

        Year Weight

        1936 S 7 1 1 2
        1936 B 8 1 1 2
        1937 6 1 1 2 66 CAM 402
        1938 5 1 1 2 66 RD 335
        1939 5 1 1 2 66 RD 335
        1940 4 1 1 2 66 RD 268
        1941 4 1 1 2 66 RD 268
        1942 4 1 1 2
        1950 4 1 1 3 67 RD 272
        1951 3 1 2 4 67 RD 204
        1952 2 1 2 4 67 RD 136
        1953 2 1 1 3 67 RD 136
        1954 1 1 1 2 67 CAM 68
        1955 1 1 1 2 67 CAM 68
        1956 1 1 1 2 67 CAM 68
        1957 1 1 1 3 66 CAM 67
        1958 1 1 1 2 67 CAM 68
        total 59 932 2695 45.6779661

There was very little thought that went into producing the weights and bonus's, other than looking at the mint proof productions.
Many complained about PCGS creating one coin #1 registry sets, but this is only a couple notches behind.

I did buy one upgrade (1953 PR68 RD) and a better eye appeal 1941 PR66 RD.I have a line on the 1936's in PR65 RD.It will take me some time but the owner is willing to work with me.I did see a 1955 PR67 DCAM but the price was to high for me.image
