Need help identifying this California token from 1999

It's gold and real but I'd like to know who made it and for what occasion. I've seen them
in 1/4 (which this is), 1/2 and full ounce versions. Any help would be appreciated.

It is called California Gold. I believe the state contracted with a mint to have them made.

I have (from 1993 or 4) a 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 oz.

They are cool, but just gold

They were made for several years, including proofs sets. Were sold in california tax free I believe. Basically bullion. The majority had bears on them but some were done with quail, whales and a saber tooth tiger.
