psa submission results 70's special

My first experience sending cards into get graded with PSA. Overall I am pleased. I was aiming for 8's but I felt some might go higher. I thought I had a pretty good eye... this is apparently not the case as I received 2 psa 4's and 2 psa 6's... I plan to schedule an eye exam tommorow~ 27 1972 topps basketball... 2 1979 topps basketball and 1 1973 topps basketball~
no 10's.....

Light creases on the 4's? Sometimes they're very hard to see, almost unnoticeable.

YDS - View the cards closey and see why they were given the grades. We tend to look at the corners and determine if the card is sharp. But like BOSOX stated, there might be light creases or wrinkles that will chop the grades down. Oh! and if you are planning a low grade '79 and/or '78 Basketball set let me know, I submitted 2 Basketball cards to round out an order, figured they would be at least 8's - both came back as 7's a - '78 David Thompson and a '79 Dan Issel, if you need them (or if anybody does) I'll let them go cheap or will trade - Email me if interested or I'll use them as target practice...jay

yeah, no more psa 7's for me. maybe a psa 7 mantle or 61 chamberlain...
truthfully, I have a few hundred burning a hole in my pocket....
I was planning on winning a psa 8 havlicek or and a psa 8 banks 1971 and got outbid on both~
so I am in the market for something really sweet...
something to put on my desk and admire gleefully~

When I've gotten a PSA 4 back, upon closer inspection, I find a crease. I become obsessed with corners and centering and miss the crease.

I concur...

If I spent only 70% of the time checking corners, 20% of the time for centering and spent that last 10% looking for "other things" I too would catch the odd 4 or 5 that creeps into every 3rd or 4th invoice. They're usually correct.
