Today I won a coin on eBay, Paid for it via PayPal and added it to one of my registry sets.

This is a neat little device image

Sure, except you may have just given Apple all of your eBay and PayPal information.

I think they pretty much already have your info when you sign up for the phone. At least your bank/credit card info.

I agree! I don't know if this was your point but I have to say that when all it takes is 3 clicks to instantly pay with Paypal, I used to spend less $$$ when I had to take the time to write out and mail a check. I admit that.

The "ease" is inversely proportional to the privacy you lose.

Privacy? Apple can't be much different, than eBay, Paypal, your web browser, your ISP, your operating software, your phone company, this forum, etc etc. We are all there to get data collected and whether we like or not, if we are "connected" there is no way around it.

Too broad of a brush painting that picture. While there is some amount of privacy lost in any of the above items you list, Apple/Ebay are the ones I would be the most worried about.
This forum? Even my browser or ISP? Doesn't worry me that much as I know more of what to expect and what may be there. None of them are financial.
Apple and ebay are a bit more in many areas.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Cool. Instant gratification. If we could just get it to prepare dinner. Oh wait, call in a pizza !
