I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

A wonderful player and person. This is sad indeed. I really admired him. A true legend of the game.

Don't remember his playing days much, but he must have been something special to go to the Pro Bowl every year of his career. I do remember his broadcasting days, and always liked him in the booth -- top notch, very knowledgeable and insightful.

I hope hid did not suffer too much with his cancer. image

Sadly, I never saw him as a player but often as an actor. Seemed like the proverbial gentle giant of the field. Read about much of his career and saw some film, but that's been it. Peace out Father Murphy. image

  • I ended up with a few of his cards, but I mainly remember him on "Little House on the Praire" growing up in the 70's.

He was actually a very convincing, good actor.

    RIP Merlin~
