Goldbergs Acquire Legendary King Edward VIII 1937 Proof Set

"At the end of February 2010, Ira and Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles purchased England’s legendary King Edward VIII 1937 Proof Set for $2.1 Million (1,350,000 Pounds). This purchase was made in England with the assistance of noted English coin dealers Steve Fenton and Mark Rasmussen."

    Will the set be allowed to leave Britain? Remember the gold Offa penny a few years ago that Alan Davisson bought and then it got held up in litigation and then couldn't be taken out of the country.

    Interesting differences between this set and the subsequent 1937 GVI set:

    * Scottish shilling only - no English reverse had been planned
    * No maundy set
    * The gold pieces are included in the EVIII set.
