Colorful Crusty Critters

Too many visually-interesting $1 coins never see the light of day.

Let's change that- if you've got a crusty but colorful (or otherwise interesting) cheap coin,
why not give it its 15 minutes of fame and post it.

Here's a 1918 Franc with lots of color, delighted to say hello

Well, since I had my daughter's 1901 Victorian set open on Photobucket, here goes a few.

These weren't terribly expensive. The Cyprus piece isn't exactly "colorful", but I suppose it is crusty-ish. Kind of CircCam, I would say.

I'm not sure how to grade this one, they can have weakish strikes, so maybe crusty, maybe not. A cheap keeper either way!



And these Thai ones aren't crusty, but they were cheap and fall in that "often overlooked" category. I really love the toning and overall look of these, all from the same dealer back at the monthly Syracuse shows:
