Does the top right edge of that card look suspicious, or is it just me?
'Sir, I realize it's been difficult for you to sleep at night without your EX/MT 1977 Topps Tom Seaver, but I swear to you that you'll get it safe and sound.' -CDs Nuts, 1/20/14
If it's not trimmed, that card looks like a 6 to me...... but if all the planets aligned I could see it sneaking into a 7 holder. A PSA 7 sells for more than the current price. So I guess I don't think things look all that ridiculous at this point. If the hammer price gets much higher, then yes.
At least the seller gives you a decent scan, so you can judge for yourself.

I would believe that raw card sales are generally higher when PSA has 4.50/5.00 specials.
Beckett says that's a $125 card so this auction was underpriced. ----Boy Genius, Beckett says this is an $80 card, the fact that it will sell for close to that is frightening
1) he is selling psa graded cards too- check out his auctions 2) based on that he certainly knows (or should know) that a nrmt/mt 1971 topps card can't have corners like what you're seeing. 3) easy return policy basically lets the buyer see for themselves whether it's overgraded or not. Having 'nrmt/mt' in the title will bring more attention and money than to say that most of those '71 raw cards he has are ex, exmt, or nrmt.
Solid NM/MT condition according to the seller. Usually I deduct two full grades off the seller's description when determining how much to bid, but in this case I'd say more like three or four. That's not even close to NM/MT on that card.
onefasttalon: Please leave Thurman Munson and his intelligence (or lack thereof) out of this discussion...I guess people fall hook line and sinker when sellers state MINT or NM-MT--and this type of result can only encourage more sellers to "stretch the truth" with condition. Hopefully he gets zinged with a few SNAD reports

This has nothing to do with Munson !!!
And why do you believe everything he says is FACT!
I am my own price guide!
I have personally seen what cards have sold for, for the last 30 years.
Going up, down, stayed the same, etc.
Thats the best knowledge you CANT Buy
Work on being your own guide.
Its all a fun hobby and some need to see this.
PS.That '71 Rose is nice and pre1990 it was a NRMT+ card.
