Experiments with Newps in the sunlight

Shifted items around in my study (had to in case I have to eat the mega coin cabinet I'm trying to sell)
and ended up with some desk top in sunlight, so I decided to image all of todays newps in the sun- no
bulbs.
Conclusions:
1. I notice much more of the coins true color immediately-doesn't seem washed out.
2. I see a lot more detail in the copper toning-don't have to fight to pick it up.
3. I see less of the colorful toning which I might pick up with the bulbs.
4. I see much more of the dirt on the 2 x 2 plastic- sorry, I'll have to change out those holders.image

I'm pleased I guess-it's a more natural look perhaps?... What do you think?

'natural' is a good way to describe the results......nicely done!

  • I like the natural look. The dust on those 2x2's is a problem though, I remember doing ebay listings always explaining " the dirt is on the holder, not the coin" and wondering how much it depressed the price. Just wiping the holder with a tissue prior to photographing helps but ultimately I needed to take the better ones out of 2x2's which gets to be a real hassle.

Still thinking of what to put in my signature...
