<< <i>I just found a place that has the sealed set. I paid under 30 bucks per set I bought 10 set. I plan on opening 5. selling 2and keeping 3 sealed for my kids. I will report back if the 5 sets are stuck together >>

If I were you, I'd sell all 10 ASAP (you'd get a $1000 profit), then wait until the card cools off again and buy an already graded one.

I figured the 2 sets I sell will make my money back. The 5 sets I open will be to see if there is any worth grading which will be gravy, even if they aren't gradable I can still sell them raw on ebay for profit. Besides I already have the card in psa 10 so I don't need another one image

I got them but have not open or sold anything yet. I will as soon as possible. Between work, family, and my 3 lil ones time is not on my side.

Sorry I'm a little late to the party. I just knew I had this set somewhere. So after a while of digging, I found this set still sealed in the cellophane and all. What's the popular consensus on selling this set versus busting it to grade the Jeter? Is there anything else worth grading out of this? I know I didn't pay a ton for this as I bought it from the card shop I managed in the early 90s and know that I have been the sole owner.

A side note here is that I really wanted to buy this set back in the day because I attended my one and only All Star Game at the Murph in San Diego that year.

I dont know, we are all waiting for Twiley to crack his!
  • I do have one thing to say about this cards set. I know that these have the 1992 Stadium Club design, saying that, because they were released in early 1993, these were designated as 1993 releases. Back then , I understood why Beckett/hobby would do that. My argument is with this years release of UD BB 2009 Signature that UD got in trouble for. Wouldn't they be considered 2010? What about football with the Exquisite brand? The released date was March/April 2010. Anyhow, just a thought...maybe the Stadium Club Murphy set can be changed to 1992 release....and essentially make all his 1993 cards 2nd year issues. image

Just finished opening up 3 sets only found 1 card worth grading

The other 2 are possible nines but could come back eights so I am not going to grade them. I am leaving the remainder sets sealed and stored safely.
  • Very cool that you got at least one minty card! On the others I would just throw them in on the special...No??
** Might help the other minty fresh card out a little while subbing...Imho image
