  • Nice examples. This is one area of the market that is receiving growing interest by collectors and speculators. They are very difficult to locate in problem-free high grades. A great many of these have been cleaned especially the Piastres.

    It's almost safer to stick with copper or bronze- cleaning or dipping gives them away immediately.

    But mudskippie, you give yourself entirely too little credit. Some very handsome coins!!

    Great coins guys. French colonies have issued some neat designs.
    Here's an upcoming auction of French colonies and other French coins,
    including some nice Napoleon I and III ones. I personally find all their starting prices high, but the auction site is worth a look.
