How common is it to have a Cello inside a PSA Graded card?

Just curious, because I see one on EBAY and the scan is not great on the corners. I have seen many older cards and most do not have a cello inside the case. I have read that they are put in there so the card will not move if it is smaller. Did the older grades get them?

  • I've had a few cards with them in it. I would think it's to keep the card from moving in the holder.

  • I have a whole set with the cello/card sleeve. it is a set that is smaller than normal size, but have had regular cards comeback with sleeves in the PSA holders. Sometimes I think they are in a hurry and just forget. LOL image
  • I believe they are mylar sleaves used to house slightly oversized cards that would be damaged if placed in standard sized Psa holders.
