Need clarification on PSA flips

Hi, I have read a few posts on here regarding the date of grade/perceived reliability of many of the different flips used by the various grading companies. However, I apparently need a refresher course.

With respect to PSA, did they ever put the number of the grade below the stated condition, prior to the start of the .5 system?

No, that change was made specifically to show cards graded post-.5
