Well since you have drawn attention to it, probably a lot more

Hope it does not go for more than $2.800.00! I have been trying.

A much nicer PSA 1 sold for 1800, so that should do the trick
  • bobbyw8469bobbyw8469 Posts: 7,139 ✭✭✭
Why..did you consign it to them??" How much comission did they charge you?
  • OverratedOverrated Posts: 454 ✭✭

why would you point out an auction that you wanted to win while it was still running?

Why not point out Im winning? sometimes card collecters seem sneakey! If I win great! If not O.K! but to point out that Im stoked I am winning! no one hurt. Why not point out to other collecters that a stahl meyer up for bid! let everybody get in on the auction, why not tell other board members about the auctions! this is the true sprit of card collecting.

is this for the psa 1?
  • OverratedOverrated Posts: 454 ✭✭
    Correct.
  • It's overrated.
  • earlycalguyearlycalguy Posts: 1,247 ✭✭

Overrated - your posts are strange. I am 100% positive you are not the high bidder on this item and that you have not been the high bidder on this item at any time since the start of this thread. if you are trying to pump your own item then hit the BST but you don't need to lie about your bidding status.
  • GriffinsGriffins Posts: 6,076 ✭✭✭
agreed, this one doesn't pass the smell test.

I hope it gets the price you want....me personally, I have not been pleased with the items I have consigned....I am convinced that one of the lots I bid on through Legendary tonight has a shill bidder competing against me!
  • bobbyw8469bobbyw8469 Posts: 7,139 ✭✭✭
PS - I think your Stahl Meyer will get you a fair price. There was ALOT nicer PSA 1 that sold for $1,800.....you should be pleased with getting $1,400 for that one. If you paid more than that for it, I hope you didn't lose too much money. Believe it or not, not all cards go up in price....so, be happy you got $1,400 for it!

PPS - by some rare chance that you DIDN'T CONSIGN this card, congrats!! You won it for $1,300, NOWHERE NEAR the $2,800 you thought you would have to pay!!! image

lol, agreed. While I appreciate his passion for this awesome card and willingness to let everyone in on the action, no collector that wants a card invites others to join in on the bidding.

OK..I am confused....earlycalguy says he won the Stahl Meyer and overated says he had a max bid in of $2,800.......who won the card!?!?!?!

Me - I struck out totally last night...got out at $2,000 on the Star Trek lot......the other cards I got outbid on went for pretty stout prices.....maybe my next consignment should go to Legendary?!?!?!?
  • earlycalguyearlycalguy Posts: 1,247 ✭✭

Overrated was obviously pimping his own card from the beginning. since I was the high bidder at the time of his post I knew what he was saying was not accurate. I hope he came out okay on his consignment.

no one in their right mind would post about an auction they are bidding on before the end.

    that was bush league

at least we know what liar to never believe again.

Payback will be the hoops he needs to jump thru to get Mastro, er, Legendary, to actually pay him for his consignment.

Why would card collectors seem sneaky, by pimping their own action? Is that the true spirit of card collecting, or is it what it has become? Look into your soul if you still have one left

Although I do not know the OPs motivation I can think of one reason to draw attention to the auction. Bidders remorse. Does not happen often but there were a few times I was hoping to be outbid.

No bidder's remorse here. Just the worst smelling spam that everyone could smell from a mile away.

Something tells me that overrated will never post in this forum again, I know I wouldn't if I were him! If you're going to spam, at least just be up front about it.

Probably coming back with an ALT, what a loser. I smelled peixe the minute he posted the thread
  • The OP has decided to hit the BST board with a more conventional way of trying to sell a couple of Mantles. Just thought it was worth while to bump this for a historical perspective.

Thought maybe he had left us for good after this embarrassment.
