    I would say no....don't even know if there is a holder they could put that in......must have been stuck in a vice or something image

    It's cool looking but I wouldn't pay more than melt for it, if it's real.

    The first Seated half dime I dug while detecting was bent double when I found it. (It was an 1854-O; curiously, the only other one with a readable date that I've found was an 1854-O as well.) It gave a shallow "pulltab" reading on the detector's meter, and was barely a half an inch in the ground, so when I dug it out of the grassroots and saw a small, silvery curved thing like that I initially assumed it was a bent and curled-up "tongue" off a pulltab (or "pop-top", if you prefer- y'know, the piece that tears off the top of a soda can).

    I was able to straighten it out pretty well by carefully bending it to the point where I could put it between two blocks of wood and tap it flat with a hammer. It ain't slabworthy or anything now (it's a holey, too, after all), but it straightened out really well. There is a faint crease, but not too bad. I guess I am lucky I didn't snap it in two.

    A Morgan dollar that got bent double, on the other hand- wow. That would probably take a little more muscle to straighten. Would probably have less chance of breaking in two, though.

    Something about the look of the reeding makes me wonder if it is even Genuine. There might be a reason it is bent in half.

    I like the guy's writeup style. It is what it is. People did weird stuff to coins, often for no other reason than boredom or something to do. I think it's kinda neat. Looks real to me.
