T-Mac is selfish...

Here's a guy that scores 48 points tonight yet he wants to take one final shot to get to 50, and he shoots the shot and claims that he got fouled. His team is up 10 or 12 and he's COMPLAINING that he got fouled and all p!ssed??? Gimme a break! You scored 48 friggin points! Be happy, don't complain because you don't get fouled while taking a crazy shot to try and get 50...your winning...geez...

Um, and what's that supposed to mean? Do you see Kobe trying to take the last shot just to get his stats higher when the team is already winning by double digits? I think not smart one...
  • D, who you refering to? me or kidatheart?

Of course, this coming from a T-wolves fan...lol Can we say...STRUGGLING??? image
  • T-Mac is one of the greatest players in the league. The fans wanted him to get the big 5-0 so he's pleasing the fans. Don't hate on him man, just trying to give the crowd what they want.

ilya - not referring to you...referring to Mr. T'Wolve image

T-Mac is SELFISH! It's one thing when you want to get 50 for the fans...but it's ANOTHER thing when you COMPLAIN to the refs about not getting the foul call when the defender barely even touched him! He was all p!ssed and b!tching about it when his team was up by double digits...that's lame. He was all whining over on the sideline as well when he left the court...geez man...Get a grip!
  • Ya, I gotta agree with Playmaker84, the crowd was on their feet wanting him to get the big 50 and so was his team, they passed him the ball and there was more than 24 seconds on the clock, did you want him to hold the ball and take a TO instead. Also, he's averaging 5.3 assists a game, so I don't know how you can call him selfish. Also, he got mad with about 3 minutes left in the game, when he was taking it to the hole and wasn't getting a call, and that's the main reason why he was mad.
  • Sticks and stones my break my bones but t-wolves comments won't hurt me. I've been a wolves fan since they drafter lattener, this little losing streak ain't nothing compared to the good old days. streak came to an end tonight.

  • Well, you sure wouldn't be saying that if it was Kobe. And while I'm talking of Kobe, what's up with his 3-16 shooting, maybe he should pass the ball since he's sucking it up tonight.

LOL...hereeeeee we go once again! The guy FINALLY has a bad game and people FLOCK to raise hell about it, yet when he has amazing games like he usually does...you could hear a needle drop it'd be so quiet. if your going to talk smack, talk it when they are doing good and not just for the bad (which is rare for Kobe)...no one said ANYTHING when Kobe scored 56 points in THREE quarters...ha...funny...
  • Hmm. I think Kobe at the all-star game when I think of selfish.

  • Well, your complaining about McGrady's game today, so I'm just talking about Kobe's game today.

McGrady, last weeks player of the week averaging 31.3 points, 10.0 assists and 7.7 rebounds.

    Don't see much selfishness there!!!

Nah, Kobe selfish at the all-star game? He took shots when he HAD to take shots usually. Hell, most of the time he was WIDE OPEN...if I was wide open I would take the open shot, wouldn't you? Most of them were easy layups anyway...

Maybe I should have made this thread say, "T-Mac was selfish at the end of the game tonight"...maybe that makes a lot more sense...

  • I still don't think he was selfish at the end of the game, there was 40-50 seconds and his teammates passed him the ball and stood around so he had to shoot, so, as I said earlier, was he just supposed to hold on to the ball and wait for the 24 sec clock to expire and take the TO, or was he supposed to let them take the ball from him? He was passed the ball and his teammates wanted him to shoot, (you said Kobe "He took shots when he HAD to take shots usually") and McGrady did exactly what you said Kobe did in the All Star game, he took the shot when he had to and he had to since his teammates stood around and watched him. I will say, he probably shouldn't have been upset at the end of the game, but he got mad with 3min to go and showed it at the end of the game, I don't think he was disappointed with scoring 48 pts.

Nah, he ain't selfish. Grant Hill is just sorry. Orlando should be a top notch team, but Grant Hill has turned into dead weight.

No, he WAS selfish at the end of this game. I remember looking at the clock when he got the ball and there was about 45 seconds. He WANTED the ball to score 50 for the fans and that's understandable. I can understand he wants to do that for the fans. BUT, when you shoot it and you miss and you b*tch and complain about not getting the foul call at the end of a game when you have already scored 48 points and had a great game and your team is winning by double digits, then that is just being a little selfish in my view. I don't care WHO it is, whether it's Kobe, T-Mac, Carter, Iverson, SHAWN BRADLEY for Christ's sake! That's just being selfish and that's very lame. Especially continue to b*tch and complain on the sidelines....give me a freaking break!
  • dude, this is ONE game!!

you seen lary bird's 60 (or was that 63?) points game? (well whatever his career high was?)
    i saw it...

he had 57 with 1:30 left. they were up by like 20 and his team just kept giving him the ball .
    he kept missing and missing
then with 2 seconds left he gets a long rebnound and throws up a 3 and bam, it's a swish for his last points

selfish? hell no, his team and the fans wanted him to get the ball

  • all i gotta say is that all of you guys defending tmac are idiots, how the hell can you score 48 and with a few seconds complain about a call when your team is kicking @ss???
  • DerrickDerrick Posts: 4,287 ✭✭
Exactly what I have been saying! That Bird game was A CLOSE game...it wasn't like they were up by double digits...
  • How is his complaining selfish? I don't see complaining as selfish and if it is, that means ever basketball player is selfish, because at one point or another, each of them complain about something. I can see someone being selfish when the person takes a shot with a guy in his face when he have a teammate wide open or takes 60 shots a game, but I don't see how complaining about a a call or no call, as selfish.
  • Ladude, as I said, I don't think he should have complained, but I'm not sticking up for Tmac on that issue, I'm saying he wasn't selfish. Just because your favorite player sucked it up, doesn't mean you have go around and call people idiots, were not in first grade anymore image

Oops, I'm sorry, I meant to say "Arrogant" instead of "selfish"...image

No, I ADMIT the fact that he had a great game, but the end of the game is where he was just being an "arrogant" ass...just my view of it...
  • D, FYI EVERYONE is open at the Allstar game, not all of them wave off legends (Karl Malone) when he wants to set a pick...

McGrady wanted 50 big whoop... he's carrying that team to the playoffs and having fun while he's doin it... sorry, but I don't see Kobe being as good w/o Shaq, but we'll see soon (I HOPE).

Finally, if Kobe is driving for 50 and gets fouled, bet yo ass Kobe would be b!tchin.

    Jeff
p.s. When Kobe had a ton in 3 qts against the Grizz, he was guarded by Battier, HELL I COULD DRIVE BY BATTIER.
  • Another Kobe fan, getting all pissy about T-mac. Give KG break, god forgive those who are not completly bias towards one player. Kobe fans are the worst I swear. It's like your kobe's mother or something. I think it's ridicoulous that you wanna whine about t-mac, when kobe is a reagular ball hog, and complainer. give me a break

  • yor right KG im not in the first grade i shouldn't call you an idiot, i think @sshole is an appropriate word image lol j/k, but what im saying its fine if he is going to shoot but it is just stupid to complain about a call when it i just for your own benefit and not the teams.

ilya - How do you know? Back then it seems as though players didn't really think about their overall performance and stats especially Bird...he just wanted to win anyway...but I can understand what your saying. Once again, I should have changed this thread to "T-Mac was 'arrogant' at the end of tonight's game" instead of saying "T-Mac is selfish"...that made it seem like I was saying T-Mac was ALWAYS selfish which is definitely not the case...I was most certainly talking about tonight's game...if you people can't see that he was being arrogant, then that's just rediculous...especially after continuously COMPLAINING AND WHINING after walking off the COURT and onto the sidelines! Geez...get over it man! Your team WON...stop complaining over a stupid call that you DID NOT get and live with it...

by the way ilya, why should I listen to you anyway? Your full of bad news tonight. image
  • "Exactly what I have been saying! That Bird game was A CLOSE game...it wasn't like they were up by double digits..."

    3/12/85 - vs Atlanta Hawks 126 115 60pts 7rbs 3assits

The Celtics won by 11. Today, the Magic won by 10, so why is what Bird did any different than what McGrady did, the Celtics won by more?

  • I think the kobe fans are getting jelous...that t-mac might steal some of kobes attention or something! he should have been biii.... whineing, but if i was an ourlando fan i would love for him to get the 50.

you know you would be the same with kobe too.

How is it different? I'm sure we didn't see Bird COMPLAINING AND WHINING about a call that he didn't get at the near end of the game! T-Mac complained and whined throughout the ENTIRE time he was OFF the court and even on the sidelines...Larry Bird might not have gotten the calls at the end of the game, but I can just about guarantee you that he wasn't all b*tching and whining about a call, after especially LEAVING the court and going to the sideline where he's talking to his coach about and trying to get his coach to yell at the refs...that's bs....it's TOTALLY different...
  • actaully kid at the heart i hope tmac does steal attention im getting sick and tired of all these fair wheather and bandwagon fans
  • I just wanna say that I'm not a bandwagon fan. I loved him when he was on Toronto. Dunkin over fools like it's nobody's bizznass. You can't blame a guy for getting upset over a foul at the end of the game especially when all the fans are on their feet, your team is winning a game, your star player has a chance to his the big 5-0, and cap off a great night. If he would have made both freethrows, the place woulda gone nuts. I can't see a kobe fan grumbling about McGrady's actions but hey, they are rivalsimage
