I don't know how I feel about this, should this guy be reported?

As some of you know, I collect first edition books, so I typed in "His Family" to eBay (first Pulitzer Prize winning novel) and at the top of the listing got a photo of a young man...eBay title: YOUNG MAN IN SWIMSUIT WITH HIS FAMILY Gay Int.

OK I understand there are antique photo collectors out there, but I didn't quite understand the seller's keywording here...so I searched his current listing and was surprised at the number of child photos on there. The most "scandalous" ones have bids. I understand collecting antique photos, but it seems like he is targeting pedophiles.

Thought I'd ask some opinions on this eBay PowerSeller... potentially selling child pornography on the site?

    Don't know if its porn or not, but am sure it is for the same sicko crew. Glad he is out of the country -- don't want him anywhere near me or my kids.

    What does it hurt to report.... Let ebay deal with it, just say you felt it was not appropite (sp) to post.

    I was going to point out that one without linking to it. And although I agree that is inappropriate I do know that laws in other countries permit the distribution of such things but have no idea what laws are in Argentina.

    But as far as eBay goes Adult Only Category Policy

    *

    Items that contain nude images of minors aren't generally permitted on eBay.
    *

    Underage modeling photos are generally not permitted even if the subject is fully clothed.
    *

    Items using the words "child," "children," "young girls," or "young boys" in a sexual context to describe an item or containing nudity or sexual situations are not allowed. Items with those words or phrases can't be listed even if the performers are 18 years or older or the words are part of the product title. At our discretion, we may also remove listings with "teen," "teens," "teenager," or "Lolita," if they are used in a sexual context and there's no indication that the performer is 18 years or older.


    Edited to add:

    Child pornography is illegal and not allowed on eBay. We generally don't allow the listing of any item that depicts people under 18 years of age naked, including child erotica. We may also remove listings that involve the exploitation of minors, regardless of whether the items are sexual in nature.



    Report them and see what happens.

    The auctions with gay in the title are ridiculous,maybe hit the auctions for keyword spamming or something.The photos with naked kids are unsettling and illegal. The majority of them are your basic vintage pics. It's the naked kids ones that dont belong.

    I just wrote that a majority of this seller's auctions are promoting pedophilia. I'm hoping they look at all of them and take them down.

    antique photos are memorabilia and he has plenty of sports related ones in his listings: young men playing football (soccer), young boys dirty after playing football, et cetera.

    There was a similar thread a long time ago. A seller was selling international films that contained children in the nude or shirtless or being abused. I think they were keyword spamming them with "coming of age" "gay" "children" etc. I reported some and realized there were thousands on eBay.

    All of his auctions should be taken down. eBay only removed the ones we reported. There are still some which disturb me, like the child on the couch.

    I search for art on eBay all the time, it seems like half or more of some categories feature something in the title about "gay interest."

    This is definitely on a completely different level marketing the image as a young person.

    yeah, I sort of understand the gay tag...it was his photos of children, that he has so many of them, and his key words, which bothers me.

    Personally, I'd prefer EBay actually refer it to Law Enforcement instead of taking them down.
