At a local shop this week found six pandas in the silver round box. Kept them from being melted. Cost less than $17 each. I have a question about the 1991. Krause shows two different varities for the 1991 Is this the better one?
Here are the others 3- 1989s
2002
2006

The one that you have pictured is the large date
It has the same mintage (50k) as the small date and brings about the same price
on ebay ,up to $85 raw.
The 2010 Krause shows two different Unc 1991 Pandas. 386.1, $85 and 386.3, $40. That's why I thought that there was a variety better than the other. I guess things have changed, since both are selling for the same now. Thanks for the info
Just curious...
Does the Krause catalog explain which one is the Large vs. the small date?
Regardless, you did good to get ANY Silver Panda at close to melt.

I agree !!!!
1991 LARGE DATE - Notice the serif on the 1 in 1991
1991 SMALL DATE - Notice the lack of the serif on the 1 in 1991.
